KEPLER
by ANGELA ARDISSON / ARTPLAY FACTORY
Kepler is a light sculpture inspired by the homonymous NASA mission, a perfect sphere with a diameter of one meter. Assembled without welding, the corten steel and brass are held together by a system of friction fits and oxidized with the organic techniques that distinguish Angela Ardisson's work. A glass cylinder envelops a thin strip of light that crosses the spherical belly of the sculpture. The light bounces from one reflective side of the sculpture to another, creating a shimmering chromatic magma on the brass surfaces and filling the sphere.

Active as an artist and designer since 1987, Angela Ardisson founded Artplayfactory in 2000 and began collaborating with a variety of international artists, exchanging experiences in the workshop and with project design. Always meticulous in her choice of materials, she has experimented with wood, paper, resin, fiberglass, and plastic polymers. However, the true protagonists have been metals since 1995, when she created her first pieces in iron and bronze.
Her specialty is the organic oxidation of metals, and infinite chromatic iterations distinguish her work like a signature, along with her love of light, even as shadows and reflections.
Artplayfactory creates lamps and light sculptures, monolithic metal furniture and cladding, and bespoke projects for clients across the globe.
